Veneers-Restore Prosthodontics & Implant Center

Your Path To a Hollywood Smile

Chips, stains, or gaps can make achieving your dream smile seem impossible. You might even find yourself trying to hide your smile or smiling less because you're worried about how it looks. Cosmetic dental restorations like veneers can be a big investment, and there is a risk that you permanently alter your teeth only to have a smile that looks unnatural or inauthentic. That's where we come in.

Dr. Thomas is an experienced, passionate prosthodontist who specializes in creating customized dental restorations that look and feel exactly like your real teeth. He hand-crafts your porcelain veneers with meticulous precision to match the color, shape, and size of your existing teeth to give you a natural-looking, seamless smile that suits your face and complements your natural features.

Schedule an appointment to transform your smile today with customized porcelain veneers expertly crafted in our dental office in Knoxville, TN.

What Are Veneers?

A dental veneer is a thin piece of porcelain that is used to change the shape, color, or size of a tooth or a group of teeth. Veneers are most often placed on your front teeth. If you have a wide smile that would show the color difference eventually, as your teeth naturally discolor while veneers remain unchanged, veneers can also be used for your premolars (the teeth behind your canines).

Ceramic Crowns vs. Porcelain Veneers

Veneers are typically used to fix minor imperfections in your smile, like chips, dings, stains or gaps. If you have a more pronounced issue, like a big chip or a crack in one of your teeth, a dental crown would be a more effective solution, both aesthetically and functionally.

Here in our Knoxville dental center, Dr. Thomas can hand-design and fabricate porcelain veneers and all-ceramic crowns. No matter what your smile goals are, we can make them a reality.

The Process

The process to get your veneers and transform your smile typically involves two main appointments.

Consultation and Planning: Your first appointment will be a consultation with Dr. Thomas. He will examine your teeth, discuss your smile goals, and take digital impressions of your teeth. You'll work together to plan the perfect shape, size, and color for your new veneers.

Preparation and Placement: At your second appointment, Dr. Thomas will carefully prepare your teeth by removing a small amount of enamel to ensure the veneers fit seamlessly. Then, he will bond the custom-made porcelain veneers to your teeth, making any final adjustments for a perfect and natural-looking result.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will my veneers last?

Like any dental restoration, veneers don’t last forever. But with proper home care and regular dental check-ups, veneers can last for over a decade if not longer!

Are dental veneers painful to get?

No, getting dental veneers is generally not painful. The process involves removing a very thin layer of enamel from the surface of your teeth, and we offer local anesthesia to numb the area. Once your veneers are placed, there should be minimal discomfort. Any sensitivity you have after is usually temporary and can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers.

Will dental veneers damage my natural teeth?

No, minimal damage is done to your natural teeth during the veneer process. We only need to remove a very thin layer of enamel to create a smooth surface for your veneers to adhere to - this is necessary for a proper fit.

What should I do if a veneer breaks or chips?

While veneers are durable, they can still be damaged. If your veneer breaks or chips, it's important to contact our office as soon as possible. In some cases, we can repair your veneer, while in others, a replacement veneer may be necessary.
